3rd Surgery Scheduled

The doctor's office called a little while ago. The 3rd surgery has been scheduled for Friday, October 3rd.

Medical Update

We took the girls to the doctor today. The doctor can't believe how well the girls are doing. They're growing and gaining weight (yes - at this age it's a good thing).

Weight 20.4 lbs (10%)

Height 32 inches (50%)

Eye Update

We met with the eye doctor again. The girls have healed and their eye alignment is getting better. He's confident another surgery should fix the remaining issue. We'll be scheduling another surgery for later in the month.

Surgery Update!

We completed round 2 on Wednesday, July 16th!

The girls did better with the anaesthesia this time. It was decided that this time the girls would be woken up slowly avoiding the shock of not knowing where they were.

The girl's eyes are pretty swollen so we're thinking that they may need another surgery. Their eyes are turning outwards and their having a hard time focusing with both eyes at one time. We're being told that this may self correct as the girls heal but only time will tell.

Latest News from the Eye Doctor

We met with the Dr. Abrams this morning and it's been determined that both girls will need another surgery. We knew going into the first surgery that our odds of having to make adjustments were very high since the severity of their condition was off the charts to begin with.

We've been scheduled for another check up on May 30th. During that visit he'll measure their eyes again and determine when their next surgery should be scheduled.
